Article V, Section 2000 FAV Floodway District Section 2000 FW FLOODWAY DISTRICT 2000 Purpose The Floodway District is established for the purpose of maintaining the Flood carrying capacity of the various size stream channels and their adjacent overbanks; protecting the river, creek channels, and streams from encroachment, so that the Flood heights and Flood damage will not be increased; providing necessary regulations for the protection of the public health and safety; and reducing the financial burdens imposed upon the community by Floods and the inundation of land. 2001 Permitted Uses Any lawful use permitted in the various Zoning districts shall also be permitted in the portions of such Zoning districts lying within the Floodway District subject to all applicable height, Yard area, Setback, off-Street parking or other regulations applicable in such zone; provided, however, that no fill, Structure, Development, Manufactured Home, encroachment or Substantial Improvements that would result in any increase in "with Floodway" elevations shall be permitted within the Floodway District. {FLOOD HAZARD DISTAICT) 100-Year Floodplain Floodway (FLOODWAY DISTRICT) Floodway Fringe Floodway Fringe Stream, Channel 100 Year Flood Elevation/Base Flood Elevation (BFE) Typical Stream Cross Section Notes: A- Filling, buildings, and other structures and encumbrances are prohibited in the Floodway.
