The department filled a total of 50 open records requests from citizens and the District Attorney’s Office. A total of 571 citations were issued from 680 traffic stops. The East Ridge Police Department made a total of 57 physical arrests that included 62 misdemeanor charges and 26 felony charges. The East Ridge Police Department answered 1 call within the City of Ridgeside and conducted daily self-initiated (directed patrols, park and walks, etc.) activities. Selected 2 new School Resource Officers who attended training for the middle school and high school. To date, Warrant Service - FEL 24 the Warrants Division has had a measurable increase in the Misdemeanor Citation Service 7 number of warrants served. Fire Administration • Scheduled fire inspections and training for each shift. • The department’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) manual is being updated. Once completed, all members will have electronic access to the revised SOPs. • Actively working on a grant application through Firehouse Safety Grants to acquire a side- by-side that will be equipped for brush fire response and include patient transport capability, enhancing operational readiness during large events held in the park • Staff has been preparing for the City’s annual event in the park. Preparations include ordering public education materials and developing an emergency response plan for the two- day event. • During the recent Thrillville fair event, the Fire Department provided EMS standby services, established a Unified Command Post, and developed an Incident Action Plan to address potential emergency scenarios. • Staff obtained quotes for turnout gear and rescue tools. These budgeted items are scheduled for presentation to the City Council at the August 14th meeting for approval • Staff have been obtaining quotes for updated pricing on other budgeted items such as Thermal Imaging Cameras, and Dry Suites for winter weather water operations. • Staff continue to coordinate with the Parks and Recreation Director and external vendors to support upcoming large-scale events. Planning efforts include safety plans, weather monitoring, Unified Command operations, medical coverage, and security provisions to ensure public safety. 23 Training Each shift completed a minimum of two hours of training per shift throughout the month of July. Training sessions covered a variety of operational, technical, and safety topics across multiple disciplines. Below is a summary of the training areas completed: 1. Four members are actively participating in the department pump operations class. Maintenance • Repaired door sensors on Squad two; two more are on back order • Repaired several air packs. This is becoming a large maintenance issue. We will be looking at a plan in the future for replacement of the air packs.
