Report The City of East Ridge Police Department responded to a total of 1,766 calls for service during May 2025. The department filled a total of 26 open records requests from citizens and the District Attorney’s Office. A total of 551 citations were issued. The East Ridge Police Department made a total of 70 physical arrests that included 84 misdemeanor charges and 52 felony charges. Fire Administration • Staff has Scheduled fire inspections and training for each shift. • The City Manager and Fire Chief attended a TDOT meeting on the upcoming Germantown Road closures. • Staff have been working on a mobile fire suppression system to place on our department side by side. This is due to the park being so crowded during large events that fire trucks are unable to gain access for potential fires. • Staff attended several public safety events involving the girl scouts, OLPH, Kids Rock Daycare, and children’s birthday parties at the Pioneer Frontier. Staff also attended the Memorial Day service at the Pioneer Frontier. • Four offices obtained recertification in vehicle extraction. • A CPR class was held in May. • The Fire Chief attended a prayer breakfast with other City staff. • The fire department held a large debriefing at Station One following a large accident on I-75 North with entrapment, fatalities, and vehicles on fire. In attendance were members from East Ridge Fire, Chattanooga Fire, and the Tennessee Chaplains Association. • Staff attended the City Council meetings. • Staff have been working with vendors that have upcoming events in the park, including the Taco Festival, Bacon Festival, Apple Festival, and All or Nothing Fights. East Ridge Fire will have crews establish a unified command post for the larger events to handle any incidents such as monitoring weather, medical needs, security needs, and any other potential hazards. • Staff have scheduled a tool demo from Makita. These tools can be used for forceable entry and rescue operations. 23 • Staff attended the City’s annual Memorial Day cookout held at City Hall. • Staff attended the open enrollment insurance meetings.
