October 2025. The department filled a total of 27 open records requests from citizens and the District Attorney’s Office. A total of 509 citations were issued from 563 traffic stops. The East Ridge Police Department made a total of 61 physical arrests that included 61 misdemeanor charges and 35 felony charges. The East Ridge Police Department answered 8 calls within the City of Ridgeside and conducted daily self-initiated activities (directed patrols, park and walks, etc.). Massengale Car 53 – 57,146 miles TRAINING AND PERSONNEL: Coordinated and completed an Open Range Day on October 17 at Catoosa County, with several officers attending and successfully qualifying. Additional courses were assigned through V-Academy for officers unable to attend scheduled training days, and the monthly state report for V-Academy was completed. 10 STOPS training was conducted for the department during the month, with a make-up session held on October 28 for officers who were unable to attend the primary class. Sgt. Massengale also began compiling and verifying training hour totals to ensure all officers meet the 40-hour annual requirement. Two officers were checked on at the Police Academy during the month to monitor progress and ensure there were no training issues. Planning began for a make-up TASER class for officers who missed previous sessions, as well as for a night fire training event scheduled for next month. Arranged and participated in a tour of the Smith & Wesson manufacturing plant in Maryville, Tennessee, meeting with staff to discuss firearm specifications and departmental needs. The fire department will utilize a unified command post during the event. Training Each shift completed a minimum of two hours of training per shift throughout the month of October. Three members attended and completed the firefighting course at the State Fire Academy, two members attended the electric vehicle extrication course in Chattanooga, and two members are currently enrolled in the Hamilton County Rookie School. Maintenance • Repaired door latch on Squad 1. • Repaired four SCBA (Air Packs). • All shifts completed in-house fire hose testing. NFPA 1962 is to ensure fire hose equipment is safe and functional.
