The City of East Ridge Police Department responded to a total of 1,746 calls for service during June 2025. The department filled a total of 31 open records requests from citizens and the District Attorney’s Office. A total of 499 citations were issued. The East Ridge Police Department made a total of 93 physical arrests that included 131 misdemeanor charges and 43 felony charges. Detective Hawks, as part of the USMS Fugitive Task Force, has assisted in the search and/or apprehensions of nine (9) individuals wanted for a variety of criminal charges to include the following: • Shooting in a dwelling in Mississippi • Rape of a child • Federal Probation Violation • Weapons Charges • Escape • Rape / Kidnapping • Rape of Mentally Handicapped (Located and apprehended in East Ridge) 13 CRIME SUPPRESSION UNIT (CSU) CUMULATIVE STATS: Self-Initiated Arrests - MIS 9 CSU NOTE: CSU has been developing intelligence and has Self-Initiated Arrests - FEL 1 shared it with cooperating agencies to ultimately combat various Warrant Service - MIS 5 types of criminal activity within the city. CSU is continuing to Warrant Service - FEL 26 conduct follow-up investigations on a variety of cases to include Meth (grams) 2.0 narcotics, fugitive, and vice-related offenses. CSU has taken a very proactive approach to initiating and clearing several good Marijuana Seizures (grams) 3.0 drug-related cases. Responded to 128 calls for service. Responded to 8 injured and/or sick animals. Responded to 8 dead animals and transported them to the shelter for disposal. Fire Administration • Staff scheduled fire inspections and training for each shift. • Staff came up with the idea of installing a small extinguishing system on our department side by side to be used for vehicle fires in the park. • Staff scheduled several public safety events during the month of June. • Staff has been working on safety plans for the Thrillville Fair that is coming in July to Camp Jordan. This is a weeklong event and a lot of concerns must be addressed. • Staff has been waiting on the budget to pass to order additional public education materials for our City Festival. • Due to June being our last month in the budget, we monitored all expenses to emergency only to help close out unpaid invoices to assist Finance. • Staff is currently working on Fire Department budget needs starting in July. Staff will start ordering equipment, scheduling training, and purchasing. These were all budgeted items. • Staff continues to work with large vendors in the park for upcoming events. The Fire department will have crews establish a unified command post for the larger events to handle any potential incidents such as monitoring weather, medical needs, security needs, and any other potential hazards. Training Each shift completes a minimum of two hours of training each shift. Training topics included: 1. Facility: SCBA Evolution, RIT Operations. (2/hour minimum). 2. Company: Ground Ladders, Ref. Essentials 7 Ch. 8. (2/hour minimum). 22 3. Rescue: Z-Rig\Tension Diagonal, Equipment Familiarization, Maintenance, and Use. (2/hour minimum). 4. Company: Forcible Entry, Ref. Essentials 7 Ch. 9. (2/hour minimum). 5. Company: Structural Search and Rescue, Ref. Essentials 7 Ch.10. (2/hour minimum). 6. Driver Training: Pump Operations, Commercial Setup. (2/hour minimum). 7. Company: Tactical Ventilation, Ref. Essentials 7 Ch. 11. (2/hour minimum). 8. EMS: Ref. First Responder Protocol Manual, Trauma PROT-0017 to PROT-024. (2/hour minimum). 9.
