Ridge Police Department responded to a total of 1,800 calls for service during August 2025. The department filled a total of 34 open records requests from citizens and the District Attorney’s Office. A total of 496 citations were issued from 540 traffic stops. The East Ridge Police Department made a total of 78 physical arrests that included 87 misdemeanor charges and 38 felony charges. The East Ridge Police Department answered 2 calls within the City of Ridgeside and conducted daily self-initiated activities (directed patrols, park and walks, etc.). Fire Administration • Scheduled fire inspections and training for each shift. • Continued updating the department employee manual. • Conducted training to meet the State of Tennessee’s requirements for upcoming in-service sessions. • Scheduled EMS standby coverage for area school cross-country events at Camp Jordan in September. • Presented items to City Council for approval, including turnout gear and rescue tools. Both were approved as budgeted purchases. Rescue tools have been ordered, and turnout gear sizing has been scheduled. • Placed six newly budgeted thermal imaging cameras into service. • Preparing to order four new dry suits for winter water rescue operations. These were included in the approved budget. • Assisted Hamilton County Emergency Management and TEMA with storm damage assessment following flash flooding that impacted local businesses, homes, and roadways. Hamilton County is pursuing FEMA assistance. • Finalized planning for the annual 9/11 ceremony, including selection of the Firefighter of the Year award recipient. • Began planning for the City’s upcoming two-day festival at Camp Jordan, scheduled for September 27–28, 2025. 22 Training Each shift completed a minimum of two hours of training per shift throughout the month of August.
