How the City Awards a Bid
- Bids are advertised in the local paper and on the City's website.
- Bids are opened and publicly read no less than 10 days after being advertised.
- The Finance Department considers the best price and quality, and awards the bid in the City's best interest.
A bid stays open ten days minimum
The City allows at least ten days between advertising a bid and opening submissions.
Business Licenses
A business license
Every business operating inside the city limits has to hold a local business license.
A business in a commercial building has to schedule a Fire and Life Safety Inspection first. Every code violation has to be corrected before a new license is issued. The inspection fee is $50, paid to the Building and Codes Department at City Hall before the inspection.

A solicitor's permit
Under Ordinance 978, anyone going door to door has to hold a Solicitor's Permit. Fill in the application at City Hall, or print it, complete it, and bring it in.
