Getting a Card
What a library card costs
A card is free to East Ridge residents. A non-resident pays a one-time $35 fee for a lifetime family membership.
A parent's signature is required for anyone under eighteen, and a child has to be at least five years old to hold a card.
What to bring
A valid driver's license showing the 37412 zip code, or a photograph identification and two proofs of residence.
Accepted as proof of residence
- A current utility bill
- A lease or a deed to the property
- A vehicle registration
- A bank statement
Six books to a card, no more than two on any one subject, for two weeks.
The Library Collection
Best sellers, large-print books, audiobooks, DVDs, and graphic novels, along with hot spots and Chromebooks that go out on a card.

The library publishes a new book list every month. The catalog is online, where a book can be reserved and an overdue fine checked.
