Mt. Gilead School & Church Historic Site

An 1870s church and one-room school, a living history classroom and a rentable venue.

Built in the 1870s, Mt. Gilead Church can host weddings, family reunions, showers, picnics, and birthday parties. The one-room Mt. Gilead School offers a field trip back in time: a teacher in period costume instructs a class in late-1880s style with McGuffey's readers, while students practice penmanship and arithmetic on slates. The four-hour program accommodates up to thirty participants.
