You

Your name and institution go to the CAMWS office, never to the reviewers.

Leave blank if you are an independent scholar.

CAMWS membership for 2026–27 (required)

Every presenter and organizer must be a member when the proposal is submitted.

The proposal

An individual paper

Please note that if you have already had an abstract accepted for a paper in a panel, or for a presentation in a workshop, at the upcoming meeting, you are not eligible to submit an abstract for an individual paper.

A Word file, not a PDF, named for its topic (SophoclesAjax.docx). Title, abstract and works cited together: no more than 800 words.

If a paper has more than one author, use the comments box to indicate which of them will attend and be the presenter(s) of the paper.

A panel

Please upload the description AND the individual abstracts as one document. Then list the presenters in order with their preferred e-mail in the box below. Please note that the description and the abstracts should be no longer than 800 words each.

One Word file, not a PDF, named for the panel’s topic.

One per line: name, then preferred email.

A workshop

Abstracts for workshops should describe the general goals of the workshop, the roles played by each presenter and expectations of the audience. No more than 800 words, as a Word file.

One per line: name, then preferred email. Workshop presenters do not submit individual abstracts.

A round-table discussion

A proposal consists of a title, a 200-word description of the topic to be discussed and what the round-table discussion leader(s) consider as the goal of the discussion; the organizer may choose not to serve as a discussion leader.

The topic and the goal of the discussion. Do not name yourself anywhere in it.

Up to 200 words

One per line: name, then preferred email. Round-table topics and organizers' names will be listed in the program.

An undergraduate poster

The abstract should summarize the substantive results of the work and not merely list topics to be discussed. You MUST also include a description of the layout of the poster you intend to present. Abstracts should be no more than 250 words, formatted according to the guidelines for all CAMWS Submissions.

The abstract only, not the finished poster, as a Word file named for its topic.

Nota bene: Undergraduate students submitting a poster abstract must receive the endorsement of their professor to be considered by the Program Committee. Be sure to discuss this submission with your professor in advance and let the professor know that, upon submission of this abstract, he or she will automatically receive an email message requesting such endorsement.
