Chief Marketing Officer (CMO)

The CMO leads BBOP Center’s marketing, communications, brand strategy, public relations, storytelling, campaign development, and audience growth. This role ensures BBOP’s work is visible, fundable, credible, and positioned for regional authority and national influence.

Position Summary

The CMO leads BBOP Center’s marketing, communications, brand strategy, public relations, storytelling, campaign development, and audience growth.

This role ensures BBOP’s work is visible, fundable, credible, and positioned for regional authority and national influence.

Primary Responsibilities

Develop and execute BBOP Center’s integrated marketing and communications strategy.

Build a strong national brand identity around entrepreneurship, workforce development, economic empowerment, and AI-powered execution.

Oversee content strategy, storytelling, newsletters, social media, press, campaigns, website messaging, and thought leadership.

Support fund development, sponsorship campaigns, donor communications, investor-facing materials, and institutional sales collateral.

Lead brand positioning for BBOP Academy, Workforce Development, Economic Empowerment and Capital Access, and Kinetic AI Hub.

Manage marketing analytics, audience growth, conversion performance, and campaign reporting.

Oversee marketing staff, consultants, designers, videographers, media partners, and PR vendors.

Ensure brand consistency across collateral, reports, events, pitch decks, presentations, and public communications.

Build systems for capturing participant, entrepreneur, partner, sponsor, and community impact stories.

Required Qualifications and Competencies

Senior marketing leadership experience with proven brand-building, campaign, PR, digital marketing, and storytelling results.

Strong understanding of mission-driven marketing, sponsorship development, institutional buyers, and community engagement.

Ability to translate complex programs into clear, compelling messages that drive enrollment, funding, partnerships, and visibility.

Experience managing websites, email marketing, social media, media relations, analytics, content calendars, and creative vendors.

Strong AI fluency for content development, campaign planning, market research, and productivity.

Excellent writing, editing, public presentation, project management, and team leadership skills.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations, journalism, business, digital media, or related field required; master’s degree or equivalent senior experience preferred.

Experience

Minimum 8 years of marketing, communications, brand, PR, or campaign leadership experience, including at least 3 years managing staff, agencies, vendors, or major campaigns.

Nonprofit, workforce, economic development, education, entrepreneurship, or social enterprise experience preferred.
