Let’s go beyond “Don’t ask why, invert and multiply.” It’s time we help students build a strong conceptual understanding of fractions
using a variety of visual models, concrete manipulatives, and hands-on activities.
Learning how to build a foundational understanding of fractions sets students up for success when they move to algorithms and
abstract equations.
In this workshop, you will learn:
• The progression of fractions with concrete examples for each grade
