Michelle Cone believes small businesses are at the heart of a community, and she looks forward to working with West Chester businesses in her new role as Economic Development Manager.
The West Chester Board of Trustees hired Michelle to fill the vacant position once occupied by Katy Kanelopoulos (now director of Community Development).
“I have a real passion for local government and how it can influence a community,” Michelle said. “West Chester has so many great projects in the works and I’m ready to jump in and do my part to keep the community moving in a positive direction.”
Michelle comes to her position with years of experience in economic development and public relations. She most recently worked for the revitalization non-profit Lawrenceburg Main Street where she recruited 44 new businesses attracting $1.2 million in private investment.
Public/private partnerships create great opportunities for business and community growth and Michelle brings experience in building these relationships. Partnerships with local community can really help small businesses exceed, and she looks forward to being part of that.
