Pigeon Forge Residential Convenience Center to Reopen Saturday, October 5th
Sevier County, Tennessee (October 4, 2024) – Sevier County is pleased to announce that the Pigeon Forge Residential Convenience Center will reopen to the public on Saturday, October 5th, three weeks ahead of the anticipated reopening date. The center, which has undergone significant improvements, is now better equipped to serve the needs of Sevier County residents.
The recent upgrades include expanded drive lanes, new fencing, and the addition of a demolition container for residential use. The improvements will provide greater convenience and enhance safety for residents using the facility.
While the center will be open for use starting this Saturday, it is important to note that a topcoat of asphalt has not yet been poured on the site. The City of Pigeon Forge is currently installing a sewer line, and final site work cannot be completed until their work is finished. As a result, the site will be closed temporarily for a day or two at a later date to allow for the completion of the project. Residents will be notified of any closures in advance.
Key Improvements Include:
- Expanded Drive Lanes: The larger drive lanes will improve traffic flow and reduce wait times for residents dropping off items.
- New Fencing: Enhanced fencing has been installed for added safety and security.
- Additional Container: A new demolition container has been added for residential use, along with the existing metal container.
- Improved Flood Resiliency: All structures and containers on the site are now upgraded to allow for safe and efficient removal in the event of flooding.
Important Reminder: The Pigeon Forge Residential Convenience Center is a Residential Convenience Center and only accepts residential waste disposal. Proof of residency may be required upon arrival, including car tags, driver's licenses, utility bills, or other government-issued IDs. Please note that all short-term rental unit cleaning companies must take their waste to the Center View Multipurpose Convenience Center located at 951 Center View Road.
