Sevier County Clerk, Adra Rowland

The county clerk is a constitutional officer who is elected to a four year term. The responsibilities include issuing business licenses, marriage licenses, beer permits, notary public at large commissions and passports. Our office provides services for vehicle renewal, title and registration. We also manage conservatorships, guardianships and the probating of estates. The Sevier County Clerk also keeps official minutes and records activities of the county commission and beer board.

Closure Notices for November – Sevier County Clerk’s Office

Veterans Day Notice - All Sevier County Clerk Locations will be closed on Wednesday, November 11, 2026 in observance of Veterans Day. The Sevier County Clerk’s Pigeon Forge Office will be open on Saturday November 7, 2026 and November 14, 2026, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. If you are in need of a marriage license, please be aware of this schedule and make plans accordingly.

Thanksgiving Weekend Notice - All Sevier County Clerk Locations will be closed on Thursday November 26, 2026 in observance of Thanksgiving. Only the Sevier County Clerk’s Pigeon Forge Office will be open on the following days:

• Friday November 27, 2026 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • Closed for lunch 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.
• Saturday November 28, 2026 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

If you are in need of a marriage license, please be aware of this schedule and make plans accordingly.

Effective June 1, 2026, USPS postage rates have changed to the following:

• New plates $7.90
• Renewal of registration (tags) or Perm. Disability placards $3.00

**Please note that the Sevier County Clerk’s Office does not issue temporary tags for in-state or out-of-state customers. This service is available in certain surrounding counties, including Knox, Jefferson, and Blount. Sevier and Cocke counties do not offer temporary tags.
