Members support the Society’s museum, archives, and the publishing programme that produces these books.
Schools, Libraries, Booksellers, and Book Clubs
Classroom sets, library orders, reseller stock, book-club copies, and bulk purchases by school districts, counties, tribal governments, and State offices all run on an approved account: tiered pricing by quantity, checkout against a purchase order rather than a card, and an order history that belongs to the institution rather than to whoever placed the order that day.
Every one of these orders used to travel by email. Now the price is on the page before you order it.

An approved account is added to your mySD sign-in once the Press has approved it, so it is the same login you already use, and the right price appears in the cart without a code.
Subscribing to South Dakota History
The Press has published its quarterly journal since 1970, and a subscription brings the four issues of each volume as they appear. It is bought here, in the same cart as the books, on the same sign-in and the same card.
Society members subscribe at the member price, automatically. Libraries and institutions subscribe on their approved account. The Society office keeps the subscriber roster and mails the issues, as it always has.
Every issue older than three years is free to read in full, subscription or not.
Ordering From Outside the United States
The Press sells directly within the United States only. Readers everywhere else are served by Mare Nostrum, the Press’s international distributor, which carries the full catalog and ships worldwide.
If your shipping address is outside the United States, the cart will hand you to Mare Nostrum with the title you were looking at, rather than turning you away at checkout.
