The Village of Schaumburg invites the public to attend its annual Public Safety Open House featuring interactive demonstrations and exhibits from the Schaumburg Fire and Police departments. The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, at the Public Safety Campus, 950/1000 W. Schaumburg Rd. This family-friendly event is free and will be held rain or shine.
The event allows the public to meet Schaumburg’s first responders and learn more about their critical services.
Activities will include vehicle extrication and technical rescue demonstrations, police department tours, blood pressure checks and stroke assessments with Ascension Health. This event will also include information booths, games and giveaways while supplies last.
Items will be collected at the event for the Almost Home Foundation, an organization dedicated to saving stray, neglected and abandoned dogs and cats. Attendees are encouraged to bring an item to donate. Visit https://almosthomefoundation.org/donations/ for a list of needed items.
