RE:
Coghlin Park Bike Rack Plaque Addition
City Commissioners, At its June 22, 2026 meeting, City Council approved the placement of a pallet-themed bike rack near the southeast corner of Coghlin Park. The Saugatuck-Douglas Area Convention & Visitors Bureau is proposing to add a plaque recognizing the high school students who designed and constructed the pallet-themed bike rack. The proposed plaque would be mounted on a pole and placed adjacent to, or in front of, the bike racks, as shown in the attached photograph. Staff recommends that City Council approve the proposed addition of the plaque, subject to final placement being coordinated with City staff to ensure that the plaque and its supporting pole do not interfere with pedestrian circulation, park use, or maintenance activities. Respectfully submitted,
