Our mission

Because tomorrow can’t wait

RISE is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that supports innovative, near-term solutions helping communities adapt to and mitigate flooding and other environmental hazards, protecting public safety, economic vitality, and quality of life.

RISE advances its mission by identifying the resilience challenges stakeholders face in flood-prone environments, conducting innovation challenges to source solutions, facilitating access to living laboratories where innovators can test and validate their work, and accelerating the growth of resilience businesses through funding, mentorship, and pilot opportunities.

More than $10 million in funding and support · 45+ pilot projects across Virginia · 400+ challenge applications from around the world.
