Membership Annual Gifts Matching Gifts In-Kind Gifts Securities / Real Estate Endowment The Meridian Council is a network of individuals who make annual donations in support of Meridian’s commitment to strengthening U.S. engagement with the world; providing neutral forums for international dialogue and collaboration and preparing public and private sector leaders for a complex global future. Council members engage in Meridian’s year-round programming to create a more stable, peaceful and prosperous world.
Become a Member Gifts that are not designated for a particular program or activity provide the funds to help preserve our historic buildings , sustain our vital programs, and enhance global engagement through the arts and sports/ cultural diplomacy . Gifts may be directed to a specific program, activity, or a Meridian-identified need of interest to the donor. Many companies will match an employee's gift up to a certain point and sometimes more than dollar-for-dollar, thereby increasing the impact of your gift.
Check with your employer to see a matching gift program is available and for any restrictions that might apply. In-Kind Gifts are another way of making a contribution to Meridian International Center. These may provide needed materials and products for operations, such as audio-visual and computer equipment; objects or artworks for its historic houses; or services such as construction or Web site development. The IRS provides generous incentives for charitable gifts in many forms.
Donating long-term appreciated assets allows the donor to avoid capital gains taxes and to claim a charitable income tax deduction based on the full fair-market value of the gift. Gifts of real estate, stocks, bonds, and certain other real property can provide valuable benefit to Meridian International Center. To make a gift of stock through a wire transfer, your broker may transfer the shares directly to Meridian International Center's account.
