Meridian Holds First Virtual Networking Reception

On Thursday, July 9 th , the Meridian Center for Diplomatic Engagement hosted its first Virtual Networking Reception . Focused on international trade and global economic revitalization, the reception featured special remarks from Peter Haas , Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Bureau of Economic and Business Affairs; and Diane Farrell , Acting Deputy Under Secretary for International Trade. The approximately 20 attendees comprised a mixture of economic counselors, trade attachés, business leaders , and U.S. government officials.

While not the same as an in-person reception in Meridian’s Linden Garden, the evening included remarks from our speakers, and allowed attendees asked questions, watch a brief video , engage in discussion , and forge connections. Meridian looks forward to hosting additional online networking sessions in the coming months on a range of themes.
