IVLP Visitors meeting with staff from the Business Ethics Alliance The Department of State and Meridian International Center worked to ensure that the following objectives were met throughout the duration of the visitors' program: Examine the role and structure of ethics in the U.S. government at the federal, state, and local level; Highlight best practices encouraging governmental transparency and accountability; Explore U.S. government and private sector approaches to ethical conduct and analyze the similarities and differences of these approaches; Discuss international efforts to strengthen ethical leadership in governments and businesses worldwide; and Examine the effect of transparency on trade, investment and economic development.
