Diplomacy at 250: Embassy of Sweden Art Exhibit

Details Monday, March 9, 2026 On Monday, March 9, 2026, Meridian is partnering with the Embassy of Sweden to host an invite-only art exhibition opening which will highlight Swedish-American diplomacy curated by Jenny Mählqvist Cabezas, Public Diplomacy & Cultural Affairs Officer at the Embassy of Sweden. The art opening will also serve as the inaugural Diplomacy at 250 program. The evening will feature remarks from Sweden’s ambassador to the U.S., Urban Ahli, Interim Chief Executive Officer at Meridian, Deborah Lehr, and a Meridian corporate sponsor (TBC), followed by a reception.

As part of the year-long convenings, the Diplomacy at 250 series focus on critical U.S. bilateral relationships at a defining moment, convening ambassadors, senior policymakers, and executives for candid dialogue and celebration of U.S. international partnerships. About the Meridian Center for Sports and Cultural Diplomacy The Meridian Center for Sports and Cultural Diplomacy is a force multiplier for U.S. soft power—mobilizing athletes, artists, and cultural leaders as frontline diplomats to build trust and foster international connection where traditional diplomacy may not reach.

As global attention turns to America’s 250th anniversary, the Olympics, and the World Cup, we are catalyzing a network of cultural leaders and institutions to develop high-impact international partnerships and programs. .
