Searching for Belonging in the Adirondacks
What does it mean to feel safe, seen, and welcomed in the Adirondacks? What does it take to go even further, to truly belong? Join Tamara Jolly of the Adirondack Diversity Initiative as she explores these questions through personal experiences, storytelling, and data analysis. This discussion will highlight the real challenges marginalized communities are facing when trying to access and enjoy the outdoors, as well as the importance of fostering future stewards who will protect and sustain this region for generations to come. Participants will consider what makes a place truly inclusive, and explore meaningful ways for communities to work toward achieving that goal. Join Tamara as she reimagines what safety, joy, and genuine belonging can look like on our trails and in our Adirondack towns.
