Notes

  • View the A Walk in the Park schedule on https://cwpd.recdesk.com/Community/Program/
  • Cancellations will be emailed and posted on our website at www.cwpd.org. Look for the red banner at the top of the page.
  • Below are the guidelines that we look at for determining cancelation of an adult walking or hiking program:
  • Heat: A real feel or actual temperature of 100°F or higher forecasted during any point of the program.
  • Cold: A real feel or actual temperature of 15°F or lower forecasted during any point of the program.
  • Wind: For programs in the woods or near large numbers of trees, we will cancel for wind advisories or higher (sustained winds over 30 mph or any forecasted gusts over 45 mph) during a program.
  • Rain: Forecasted prolonged rain (heavier than a drizzle) for a large portion of the program.
  • Lightning/Thunder: Forecasted thunderstorm risk during the program. If thunder is heard or lightning spotted during the program, the walk or hike ends at that time.
  • We make cancellation calls for walking and hiking programs about 1 to 1.5 hours before start time using the best info available.
  • Thanks for staying active and safe with us!
  • Note: Tuesday A Walk in the Park locations will be the same as our Trail Trekking program.
  • Program and camp cancellations made seven days prior to the start date will receive a full refund in the form of household credit or refund to the original payment method. Those cancellations made less than seven days prior to the program date will be offered a 50% refund in the form of a household credit. Cancellations made during or after the program are not eligible for a refund. Exceptions to this policy can be made at the discretion of the Program Manager.
