NEA-New Mexico is a state affiliate of the National Education Association, founded in 1886 (originally as the Territorial Education Association) and describing over 125 years of continuous operation. It advocates for students, public education, and public education employees across New Mexico, working to secure strong learning conditions for students and working conditions for educators through collective bargaining by local affiliates, policy advocacy, and professional development and leadership programs. The organization is composed of local affiliates statewide and reports thousands of active members.
