The Native American Budget and Policy Institute (NABPI) at the University of New Mexico works to improve the health, educational, and economic well-being of Native American children and families across New Mexico’s 23 Pueblos, Nations, and Tribes through tribally-driven research, budget analysis, and policy work. Its activities include tribal data collection and dashboards, a Tribal Remedy Framework, COVID-19 research, and a Native American Cancer Patient Navigation program, guided by an external Governance Council of experts in indigenous affairs, health, law, and policy. The institute has received support from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation for its work.
