Joint Press Release: Sevier County, City of Sevierville Enter MOU with the Outlet Resource Group
Sevier County, Tennessee (April 23, 2025) – Sevier County and the City of Sevierville have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with The Outlet Resource Group (TORG) to explore the redevelopment of the property currently occupied by Smokies Stadium and the adjacent parking lot, located at 3540 Line Drive in Sevierville.
The City of Sevierville's Industrial Development Board, on behalf of Sevier County and the City of Sevierville, issued a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) on September 30, 2024, inviting proposals from developers interested in the redevelopment of the stadium property. The Board received three submissions in response to the RFQ.
After a thorough review, the Board has decided to pursue TORG as a potential development partner. Out of the three submissions, TORG was the only developer to include a plan that keeps and reuses Smokies Stadium. The review board saw this as a positive approach because it could help preserve a staple of the community and allow public enjoyment of the stadium for years to come.
Under the terms of the MOU, TORG has 120 days from April 22, 2025, to submit a detailed redevelopment proposal. During the 120-day MOU period, Sevier County and the City of Sevierville have agreed to work exclusively with TORG to negotiate the terms of a potential development agreement for the site.
