A farmer network already in place

Coalition membership, clearly labeled.

The related Coalition publishes its own membership program. It is not a Foundation program, but it is an important existing path for farmers who want information and peer connections.

Coalition farmer membership

$50 each year

Published qualifications include identifying as Black or African American, actively farming in South Carolina or planning to begin within six months, and supporting the Coalition mission and vision. Waivers or scholarships are listed for elder and beginning farmers.

Published benefits

Information and connections

Benefits include funding and policy information, connections to agricultural businesses, a place to share concerns and ideas, monthly listings for produce, jobs, land, and equipment, and discounts for conferences and training.

Friends of the Coalition

$150 each year

The published Friends option includes newsletter notices, early sponsorship invitations, and opportunities to join workshops and trainings as a guest speaker.

The Foundation’s role is funding and support. The related Coalition says contributions help sustain the work below.
