A permit granted hereunder shall not be transferable, nor shall any such permit be extended beyond the dates set out therein. Boats will be launched empty from Union Street and floated over for setup. • Approval from Chief Kent to allow the hiring of a police officer for event security; the applicant has reviewed and agreed to the associated personnel costs. • Saugatuck Township Fire Department has discussed associated costs with applicants. • Submission of the Special Event Application to the City of Douglas, which is on the August 4th agenda. The application includes the required fencing per DPW’s guidelines. • Submission of the DNR Marine Event Application, which is pending local approval. The DNR has confirmed with applicant they are willing to proceed and finalize the permit once local approval is granted. LEGAL REVIEW: None. SAMPLE MOTION: Workshop Discussion.

Dear Saugatuck City Council, Thank you for your consideration of our firework display for our wedding. I apologize for the late submission. This is my first wedding and first firework display (hopefully!) and took a fair amount of coordination to organize. My wedding planner, Sarah, reached out to the city in early May 2025 and was able to get some information on what it would take to secure city approval at that time. We then researched a variety of firework vendors, reviewed safe location options, and got in touch with the US Coast Guard in order to have all our ducks in a row to complete the city’s application. Again, I apologize for the delay in submitting this information to you, but hope you are still able to approve the request. We are really looking forward to celebrating our marriage amongst our family & friends in Saugatuck this summer and know this would be a wonderful way to cap off the evening.

Thank you for your time & consideration, Andrea Haines
