Potential Donor for Future Saugatuck Wilds Nature Preserve Pavilion
DESCRIPTION: An anonymous donor has come forth with an offer to donate dollars toward the future construction of a pavilion at the Saugatuck Wilds Nature Preserve. The donor advised the funds will not be available until their death. Before establishing a legal mechanism to provide the funds, the donor is seeking feedback from City Council on whether there is interest in future construction of a pavilion and related accessory items. The donor proposed funds be used for the following: • • • • •
A pavilion that is 20 ft x 40 ft Benches and/or picnic tables Possibly a fireplace The pavilion be named after their dog. Leftover funds (if any) to maintain the pavilion.
The donor will have a representative at the meeting to answer questions. LEGAL REVIEW: Legal previously advised staff on options to formalize the donation. Legal will be at your meeting for any questions. SAMPLE MOTION: N/A – Workshop discussion item.
