I am so sorry to hear that you suffered a stroke. I hope your home care is going well.

Our short-term rental ordinance allows for a five-calendar day grace period but beyond that our ordinance doesn’t allow a STR application to be processed. With the current ordinance, City staff doesn’t have the ability to process your STR application. I would suggest reaching out to the City Council to explain what occurred and if they wish to consider ordinance amendments, they can direct staff to prepare them accordingly.

To reach the Council you can either e-mail the City Clerk (jwolters@saugatuckcity.com) or e-mail them directly. Here is their contact information: https://www.saugatuckcity.com/city-council.html

Again, very sorry to hear about your stroke. I wish you a full and speedy recovery.

Thank you,

Ryan Cummins 2

Subj: Trester v EPIC Dear Saugatuck City Council: As you've no doubt seen, this complaint has been resolved...EPIC was properly registered, and the matter is closed. Several of you (Russ Gardner and Chris Peterson) had concerns about this lawsuit a few months ago when Helen Baldwin applied to be a Historic District commissioner. You voiced your concerns about Helen (and other sitting council members) in a public forum. Additionally, as a candidate for council, Sherry Tedaldi voiced her concerns during public comments at the same council meeting. I hope each of you will similarly acknowledge, in the next City Council meeting, that this case has been legally resolved and closed without any wrongdoing. Your concerns seemed grave at the time, without the benefit of due process to support your statements. I have huge respect for leaders who have the courage to acknowledge a concern as well as the courage to acknowledge its resolution. I hope you'll choose the right page from that leadership playbook and act accordingly. Thank you for listening, and Russ and Chris, regardless of this misstep, thank you for the work you do on Saugatuck City Council. Sincerely, Timothy Straker
