Verify before you pay or share information
District 2 Public Health has received a report of callers falsely identifying themselves as health inspectors and demanding payment. A legitimate Environmental Health representative can identify the county office and explain the reason for contact.
If you receive a suspicious call
- Do not provide card, bank or personal information.
- End the call and contact your county Environmental Health office using a published number.
- Write down the number, name used and details of the request.
Confirm with your county
Use the District contact directory instead of a number provided by the caller.
