From one living room to a wider arts community

From a chorus to a foundation

On May 25, 1955, Shirley May gathered a small chorus in her Whippany home. Five months later, the group performed Beethoven's Ninth Symphony with the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra.

That belief in artists, preparation, and high standards still shapes Masterwork's support today.
