Southwest Parking Lot Construction

The City’s Department of Public Works (DPW), Gerken Paving, K & B Asphalt Sealcoating Inc have begun to tear out and replace the SW parking lot starting today, August 19, 2024. The timeline for project completion is two weeks. Week one, DPW will be working on tearing out the existing parking lot, and the next week of August 26 to pave and restripe the new parking lot. The parking lot is scheduled to be open on Friday, September 6th, 2024.

While the parking lot is closed, residents, business owners and employees can park on any of the local streets including Evans, Pearl, Pottawattamie, and Chicago Boulevard, in addition to any other public parking lots. We have also spoken to local law enforcement to allow overnight parking on Chicago Boulevard, during the parking lot closure.
