Seven commissioners, one from each district, set County policy and the budget. Every meeting is public, every agenda is posted before it, and the minutes follow. This page is the log.


The schedule

Two public meetings a month, like clockwork

The Board meets in the Commissioners Room of the County Building, 870 South Main Street, both meetings starting at 9:30 a.m.

  • Second TuesdayFinance & Business meeting: claims, contracts, and action items
  • Fourth TuesdayCommittee of the Whole: work session on policy and longer-range items

Want to be heard?

Public comment is on every agenda; arrive a few minutes early and sign the sheet. You can also write the full Board through the Administrator's office at (231) 627-8855, or speak with your own commissioner before an item comes to a vote.
