MDiv
Master of Divinity
Prepare for ministry, chaplaincy, or community leadership through a three-year degree that awards stackable credentials along the way.
The MDiv is a stackable, professional graduate degree preparing students from diverse backgrounds for spiritually rooted leadership and ministry. Along the way you earn a Certificate of Spirituality and Social Change or a Certificate of Sexuality and Religion after year one, and a Master of Arts in Social Transformation after year two, before completing the MDiv itself in year three. The program meets ordination requirements for the United Methodist Church, United Church of Christ, and Christian Church (Disciples of Christ); UMC ordination candidates must take their courses on campus in Berkeley.
